Lunar Eclipse

I took a trip out to Mundaring Weir the other night to photograph the lunar eclipse.
What I wanted was a series of exposures of the landscape with the moon arcing across the sky as the eclipse progressed.
As often happens it didn't go quite to plan.

I arrived at 8:00pm, well before the eclipse but after dark. Fundamental mistake (I must be getting old). It was too dark to properly compose and focus and so after half an hour of mucking about and not succeeding I gave up and just photographed the moon itself with the longest lens I had on hand.

It was a very pleasant night however.
