16th December 2009 - Merry Christmas and Happy new year

We would like to wish a very merry Christmas to everyone, and also a happy new year.

For those who have purchased fine art prints, or utilised our services over the past year - thank you.
The year has been very busy and we have been found it difficult to get out to do photography, let alone update our web-site!

We will be closing down on the 24th of December for Christmas/new year - and be available again on the 18th of January, for business as usual.

Our best wishes to all,
Richard and Anne.

P.S. Make sure you take your camera with you over the festive season.

3rd November 2009 - Darlington Arts Festival on this Weekend

Come along to the Darlington Oval on Saturday or Sunday the 7th or 8th of November and visit the 46th annual Darlington Arts Festival.

This event is well worth a visit with lots of fun activities, including an art exhibition, as well as lots of original arts and crafts stalls.
We will be hosting a stall, as we have for the last couple of years, exhibiting some of our images - so come along and say hello.

For more information visit www.darlingtonartsfestival.org.au.

21st July 2009 - Cooperation and Photography

Have you ever noticed how often photographic subjects choose not to cooperate with the photographic process? I find it quite often with many subjects and very often with a few subjects.

13th June 2009 - Catching the best light

If you want to take landscape photographs that stand out from the usual family snapshots, then you have to find and catch the right light.

There are many types of light, dictated by the time, weather and sometimes the activity of other people. In a general sense, the more unusual the light, the more the photograph will stand out.

14th April 2009 - We will be away for a week starting 17th April

We will be away on a photography trip to the southwest of Western Australia from the 17th through to the 23rd of April. During this time you can still contact us on the normal number or via email.
Please note however, that we won't be available for printing, scanning or photography work between these dates.

Thanks - we hope you had an enjoyable Easter,
Richard and Anne.

York Art and Craft Bazaar - 28th and 29th March (15th March 2009)

Come and visit York!

A pleasant one and a half hour drive from Perth is Western Australia's oldest inland settlement. A charming and picturesque town, it was established in 1831 on the banks of the Avon River. York is a great place to visit having many of its original buildings still in use and an abundance of things to see and do. For more information visit www.yorkwa.com.au (this link leaves this site), or www.yorkwa.org.au (this link also leaves this site).

Mundaring Markets on again on the 8th March (28th February 2009)

The Mundaring Markets are on again on Sunday the 8th of March - Nichol Street in Mundaring.

Come and say hello if you are in the area.

There is a bit of everything - including food, arts and crafts, hand-crafted jewelery, plants and 2nd hand books.

The Mundaring markets are on every second Sunday of the month (organised by Rotary) and we almost always have a stall displaying some of our fine art photography and selling prints.

We always enjoy our day, especially meeting people and discussing photography.

Perth Photographic Market - 22nd February (16th February 2009)

This is back on February the 22nd at the Leederville town hall (84 Cambridge Street, Leederville).

The photographic market is a great place to grab some 2nd hand bargains. I always try to attend and never come away empty handed!

Sellers can hire a table for $15.00 and are admitted from 7:30am, buyers can get in at 8:30am for the princely sum of $3.00 per person. Phone Bob on 93645905 if you want to book a table. Tea and coffee, as well as nibbles are also on sale.

Canon 5dMkII versus 6x7 Film (28th January 2009)

Updated - apparently the images were not visible using Internet Explorer 6 - fixed now.

The following observations and discussions are my own opinions. They are not intended to represent any sort of intensive investigation or to propose any particular course of action. I offer them in the hope that at some point in time, they may help someone.

Mundaring Visitor Center (25th January 2009)

The old school house, on Great Eastern Highway in Mundaring, houses the Mundaring visitor centre. A place full of information on the Perth Hills and Mundaring area. If you are up in the Perth hills it's well worth a visit. There are friendly staff to assist you in choosing places to visit and things to see.

The Mundaring and Hills Historical Society Inc. runs the Mundaring District Museum in the same building and holds regular exhibitions.
